Determine root cause and prevent disease, that is my goal. My family values and beliefs have always aligned with the principles of Naturopathic Medicine: treat the root cause using the best defense system – our own body. If we can support our body and work from the inside-out, we are setting ourselves up for optimal and long-term health.
Dr. Shreya Batra first became interested in the field of Naturopathic Medicine because she wanted to provide patients with long-lasting change by determining the root cause and preventing the progression of disease. She strives to use the body’s own defense systems to improve quality of life and prevent future illnesses through diet, nutrition, lifestyle, and supplementation (when necessary). She is passionate about evidence-informed integrative health to provide you with the best treatment possible.
Dr. Batra is the co-owner of Darou Wellness and works alongside a talented group of health care practitioners to provide the best service to the greater Toronto community. During her clinical internship, she was selected and given the opportunity to work in the highly competitive fertility shift where she received in-depth training in women’s health from experts in the field. Her other personal and clinical interests are in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and insulin resistance. During her training she has offered Naturopathic care at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Brampton Civic Hospital, as well as at Darou Wellness.
She is an honours degree graduate of the University of Toronto (UofT) with a specialist in Health and Disease and a Naturopathic Medical graduate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). She has also spent years during her degrees working at Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto, in pediatric research. She is also a proud recipient of the Gordon Cressy Leadership award at UofT and has also received awards for outstanding research at UofT and CCNM.
