I am passionate about helping people and have witnessed how with the right therapeutic support and guidance clients can overcome the issues they are struggling with. It has been my honour to walk with hundreds of clients on their journey as they learn new ways to cope with stress and better navigate their emotional reactions and relationships. Ultimately, many clients seek psychotherapy with me because they want to experience more inner peace and good psychotherapy helps to cultivate a sustained sense of well-being.
I have 21 years of counselling experience and my approach emphasizes working together with clients to develop tangible goals for therapy while providing ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic process to ensure the client is satisfied with their progress. I fully understand that it takes serious courage to explore our inner world of thoughts, feelings and sensations and I work hard to foster a strong therapeutic alliance. I am a compassionate, empathic and curious therapist who will provide you with solid, evidenced-based, techniques and tools to help you cope better. In addition, I have specialized training in somatic-based psychotherapy.

Another service I also provide is Sound-Based Stress Reduction (SBSR) Services which utilizes both the power of sound healing and mindfulness meditation to help settle the client’s central nervous system. I will create a personalized sound bath by using the sound of the quartz crystal singing bowls, other musical instruments and voice during your treatment to address the issues you have highlighted. Deep listening of sound encourages slower brainwave patterns, such as Delta waves that help to quieten the mind, encourage deep relaxation, and release tension from the body.

I am registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold a Master of Social Work Degree with a specialization in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto (2014) as well as a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Ryerson University (2000). I provide both psychotherapy and Sound-Based Stress Reduction Services.
My practice is primarily informed by the exceptional training I received at Women’s College Hospital in Cultural Relational Therapy and Trauma. I have specialized training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which is a body-centered approach that aims to treat the somatic symptoms of unresolved trauma. In addition, I have training in several other mindfulness-based therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. Most recently I earned certificates in both Restorative Yoga and Sound Therapy. I utilize an anti-oppression framework with a focus on fostering equity, diversity and inclusion. Regular supervision, peer consultation, and a commitment to remaining current regarding the latest evidence-based practices keep my practice well informed.
